Welcome to my new course about talking to our children about adoption. When I talk to adult adoptees, so often they tell me about the hurt and loss they experienced when they were not able to express every aspect of who they were to their parents. It is vital for children growing up with adoption as part of their lives to have a space where they can process their experience with supportive parents. This course will help you understand where your child is at each phase of growing up and give you ideas of how to communicate, as well as some issues to look out for at every stage a child goes through. I hope this will be a jumping-off point for parents to do their own research and find a way to navigate conversations about adoption that work for their family. There are many ways to talk about adoption. The important thing is that adoption is discussed openly and honestly.
