Adoption Uncovered
Adoption has been on my mind most of my life. When I found my husband we both agreed that some of our children would be adopted, even before we knew if we were able to have biological children together. Our path through adoption has done much more than bring us two of our five children. We have learned about birth mothers, foster children, social issues, government agencies and foreign cultures. Adoption isn’t just a convenient source of adorable forever family snapshots. Adoption has broken edges that can hurt the children, families and even countries it was intended to help. Change can’t come if we don’t know what the problems are. Stories from those touched by adoption are some of the best sources for learning what the future of adoption needs to look like, and that is what I want to show you.
